Pewter Rattle

An amazing pewter casting by Judy Harcus. Based on surviving English rattles, probably carried by pilgrims. Each half is cast in a multi-part stone, wood and leather mould. The two halves are filled with cockleshells, then soldered together (quite a trick in itself). Also available with a decorated pewter bell as well as shells. 5.3cm in diameter.
