Boy Bishop Coin
$44.95
Lead Boy Bishop coin, 13-15th century. 1.5cm. These lead tokens were given to the poor (who could use them to buy food and drink) by the Boy Bishop, a young choir-boy elected to the position on St. Nicholas' Day (December 6). This example is in excellent condition for a lead coin- it still has legible lettering.
